4. we have just started a series of messages from 2 Peter.

5. Last time, we saw how Peter exhorted new believers to beware of the teaching of false prophets.

6. He told us that, if we abide in the living truth,

7. they will keep us from stumbling.

8. Today, we will see another promise that Peter makes to all believers.

9. It is found in 2 Peter, Chapter 1, verse 13.
记载在彼得后书一章十三节。

10. He said, “It is my pledge as long as I am in this body, I will remind you of other things.”

11. Peter is saying that “I'm going to be a burr under your saddle.
彼得就好像是说:“我要让你们卧薪尝胆,

12. I am not going to give up on you.
我不会放弃你们的,

13. I am not going to stop reminding you.”
我要不断地提醒你们。”

14. Peter says, “I am going to be these three things for you.
彼得说: “我要为你们做三件事情。

15. I'm going to be an encourager,
我要鼓励你们,

16. I'm going to be an exhorter,
我要警戒你们,

17. and I'm going to be an example.”
我要作你们的榜样。”

18. Peter calls the body a "tent" because a tent is a temporary dwelling.
彼得把肉体说成“帐棚”,因为帐棚是暂居之地。

19. When you live in a tent, it’s usually a temporary existence.
当你住在帐棚里的时候,表示这只是一段短暂的时期。

20. When the time comes, you pull up the stakes and you move on.
时候一到,你就会拔营继续往前走。

21. Sometimes, you pull up stakes and go home.
有时,你会拔营回家去。

22. Our earthly body is a tent.
我们的血肉之躯就是一座帐棚。

23. Through the years, my tent is going to get tattered and creased and faded;

24. but, then, I'm going to fold it and I will get a new one.

25. That will be my new glorified body in Jesus Christ.

26. In verse 14, Peter remembers what Jesus told him in John 21: 18 and 19.
在14节,彼得想起了耶稣在约翰福音21章18、19节那里对他说的话。

27. Let’s read that.
我们来读这段经文。

28. “Jesus said this to indicate the kind of death by which Peter would glorify God...”
“耶稣说这话,是指着彼得要怎样死,荣耀神。”

29. then, Jesus said to Peter, “Follow me.”
说了这话,就对他说:“你跟从我吧!”

30. Peter knows, while he is writing this Epistle,
彼得写这封书信时,心里很清楚,

31. that it’s a matter of days, perhaps, before he dies and goes to be with the Lord;
他将要离世与主同在,可能就在不久之后;

32. but Peter does not feel sorry for himself.
可是,彼得并不觉得遗憾。

33. In fact, the closer he gets to the day of the fulfillment of the Lord’s prophecy about his death,

34. the more persistent he becomes in thinking about others.
他就越发为别人着想。

35. The closer he gets to the day of the fulfillment of the Lord’s prophecy about his death,

37. as if Peter is saying, “Don’t feel sorry for me.

38. My intense desire is to see to it that you are established in the faith.

39. My goal for the remaining years of my life is to work harder than ever that your faith does not get out of kilter."

40. In Acts, Chapter 20, Paul says the same thing.
在使徒行传20章,保罗同样说:

41. “None of these things move me. Either I count my life dear to me, that I might finish my course with joy and the ministry which I received from the Lord Jesus to testify the Gospel of the grace of God.”
“我却不以性命为念,也不看为宝贵,只要行完我的路程,成就我从主耶稣所领受的职事,证明神恩惠的福音。”

42. Do you know what the problem is for many believers?
你知不知道许多信徒的问题出在哪里?

43. They listen to the worldly prophets of doom and gloom too much.
太多的时候,他们听从那些世俗的悲观论调。

44. They forget who is in charge.
他们忘记了是谁在掌权。

45. They think that God is only going to bless them in this life;
他们以为神只在今生赐福给他们;

46. but Peter re minds us of the eternal perspective,
但是,彼得以永恒的角度来提醒我们,

47. and, when you learn to look at the eternal perspective,
当你学会用永恒的眼光来看问题的时候,

48. you will lose your grip on the things that don’t matter in this life;

49. but, if you lose your eternal perspective,

50. you will lose your joy.

51. If you lose your eternal perspective,
如果你失去了这种永恒的眼光,

52. you will lose your fulfillment.
你就得不到真正的满足。

53. If you lose your eternal perspective,

54. you will lose your true identity.
你就会失去你真实的身份。

55. In 2 Peter 1:15, he says,
在彼得后书1章15节,他说:

56. “Even after my death, I will exhort you.”
“就是在我去世以后,我还要劝戒你们。”

57. He said, “I'm going to leave some writings behind so that, many times, you will read them after my departure that they may continue to encourage you.”
他说:“我会留下一些著作,以便在我去世以后,你们可以重复诵读作为勉励。”

58. My listening friends, let me ask you a question.
我亲爱的朋友,让我问你一个问题。

59. What are you leaving behind as your legacy?
你离开世界的时候,会留下什么作为遗产呢?

60. Peter is leaving words of encouragements and words of exhortation.
彼得留下了鼓励和劝戒的话。

61. Peter is leaving behind words of love.
彼得留下了慈爱的叮咛。

62. Why?
他为什么要留下这些呢?

63. So that believers may not be led astray.
因为有了这些,信徒就不会被引离正路。

64. What are you leaving to your family and friends?
你会给你的家庭和朋友留下些什么呢?

65. Will they remember you as an encourager and a supporter and exhorter?
他们纪念你,是因为你曾经鼓励、支持以及忠告过他们吗?

66. Or will they remember you as critical and cynical?
还是他们认为你是一个好批评,和忿世嫉俗的人呢?

67. Will they remember you for your generosity and love for the work of God?
他们纪念你,是因为你热爱神的事工,慷慨的奉献自己吗?

68. Or will they remember you for whatever money you’re leaving them?
还是只因为你把你的钱留给了他们呢?

69. Why is Peter so positively persistent about reminding those Christians about the truth of the faith?
彼得为什么要这么坚持地在真道上提醒那些信徒呢?

70. He lists three reasons.
他列出了三个原因。

71. They are to be found in 2 Peter, Chapter 1, verses 16 to 21.
这三个原因记在彼得后书第一章,16到21节,

72. The first one is in verses 16 to 18.
第一个原因,在16到18节,

73. Peter tells us that he has experienced these truths about Jesus firsthand.
彼得说,他已经亲自经历过有关耶稣的真理。

74. Secondly, in verse 19,
第二个原因,记在19节,

75. the Holy Spirit is going to confirm to all believers the truth about the Word of God.
圣灵要对所有的信徒证实神话语的真实。

76. Thirdly, in verses 20 and 21,
第三个原因,是在20到21节,

77. the Holy Spirit Himself is the author of the Word of God.
圣灵本身就是神话语的作者。

78. These words of the Scripture are God-breathed,
圣经上的话,都是神所默示而写成的。

79. and Peter was crucified upside down because he upheld the truth in these Scriptures.
彼得也是因为维护圣经的真理,才被倒钉十字架殉道而死。

80. Let’s look at those three things one at a time.
现在,让我们一个个来看这些原因。

81. First, let’s look at Peter’s own experience.
首先,我们来看彼得的亲身经历。

82. Let’s read verses 16, 17 and 18.
让我们来读16、17和18节。

83. Peter knew that there would be false teachers who would deny the resurrection of the Lord Jesus Christ.
彼得晓得,会有假师傅出来否认主耶稣基督的复活。

84. He knew that there would be false teachers who would say that the resurrection is only a matter of faith.
他晓得那些假师傅会说,耶稣的复活只不过是这些人一厢情愿的相信而已。

85. They thought they saw and heard, but these things are not really historical fact,
他们自以为听到,看到了,却不是历史的事实。

86. and Peter is telling all believers, “Don’t listen to these babbling idiots.”
彼得告诉信徒说:“不要相信他们的胡言乱语。”

87. He is saying, “I followed Him for three years.”
他说:“我跟随了主有三年之久。”

88. He is saying, “I know what James and John and I saw on the Mount of Transfiguration.
他说:“我知道,雅各、约翰和我在圣山上亲眼看见什么。

89. It was real.
那是真实的。

90. I know that He told me that I would deny Him three times before the cock crowed, and I did.
我知道,祂告诉我在鸡叫以先,我要三次不认祂,我真的这么做了。

91. It was real.
那是真的。

92. I know that, after the resurrection, it was not my imagination.
我知道,在主复活以后,不是凭借我的想象力,

93. I entered into the tomb on that Sunday morning and it was empty.
在主日的清晨,我进到坟墓中,看见坟墓是空的。

94. It was real.
这是真的。

95. I know that He came to the Upper Room and talked to me
我知道,他来到耶路撒冷那楼房中和我谈话,

96. and, then, He came back a week later to take care of Thomas’ doubt.
一个礼拜以后,祂又回来打消多马心中的疑虑。

97. It was real.
这,是真的。

98. I know how He challenged me to feed the sheep and that’s what I'm doing right now.”
我知道,祂向我提出挑战,要我喂养祂的羊,这正是我现在所做的事。”

99. Peter reminds us,
彼得提醒我们,

100. “I am following His command in trying to encourage you.
为了遵行祂的命令,我鼓励你们。

101. I am following His command in trying to uphold you.
为了遵行祂的命令,我扶持你们。

102. I am following His command in trying to feed you the pure Word of God.”
为了遵行祂的命令,我用神纯正的话语来喂养你们。”

103. Then, in verse 19, Peter said,
在19节那里,彼得说:

104. “But it was not only my eyewitness account. Look at the prophecy of the Scripture.”
“不仅因为我是目击者的缘故,请看圣经的预言。”

105. Peter tells us that the Word of God is like a light that is shining,
彼得说,神的话如同明灯照耀,

106. but the light seems to be shining outside of our hearts.
但是,它似乎只照到了你心灵的外面。

107. Inside your heart, you choose to sit in darkness,
在你心灵深处,你却选择仍然留在黑暗里。

108. and what the Holy Spirit does when He sees a genuine desire from the heart to be illuminated and enlightened is this:
如果一个人以真诚的心愿意接受光照的话,圣灵就会这样运行:

109. He comes like a magnifying glass,
圣灵就像放大镜一样,

110. and He concentrates the light of the Word of God into your heart and illuminates it;
祂要把神的话语聚焦以后,来照亮你的心;

111. and Peter is saying,
彼得的意思是:

112. “Let the Word of God and the Spirit of God shine upon your heart.
“ 让神的话语和圣灵光照你的心。

113. Let the Word of God and the Spirit of God give you hope until the return of the Lord Jesus Christ.”
让神的话语和圣灵赐给你希望,直到主耶稣基督再回到世上来。”

114. Finally, in verses 20 and 21,
最后,在20和21节那里,

115. Peter is saying you can trust the Word of God because it came from God.
彼得说,你们要相信神的话,因为那是出自神自己。

116. Men may have penned these words in the Bible,
圣经是由人执笔写成的,

117. but the Holy Spirit edited every thought and every word.
但是,圣灵会亲自带领每一个思想和每一句经文。

118. Someone once said that, when these men were writing the Scripture, the Holy Spirit jumped in the ink.
有人曾经说,当这些作者写下经文的时候,圣灵的同在令他们下笔有神。

119. In a day when there are so many false teachers and false prophets denying the authority of the Scripture,
当那些假师傅和假先知起来否定圣经权威的时候,

120. Peter tells us that we need to stand firm on these facts.
彼得要我们在这些事实面前站立得稳。

121. First, the words, as originally penned by the forty or more human writers, were God-breathed.
首先,当这四十多位作者用笔墨写成圣经的经文时,有神亲自默示他们。

122. God did not just give them a general outline.
神并不是单单给他们一个提纲,

123. God did not just give them the basic themes.
神并不是只给他们一个主题思想,

124. God did not tell them to write using their imagination.
神不是让他们凭借想象力来写作,

125. No. The Holy Spirit gave the very words that they wrote.
不是的,圣灵带领他们去写每一句话。

126. Peter also tells us that the entire Bible was equally given by God.
彼得也告诉我们,整本圣经都是神所默示的。

127. God gave us both the Old Testament and the New Testament.
神默示了旧约圣经和新约圣经。

128. God gave us the Bible from Genesis to Revelation.
神从创世记一直默示到启示录。

129. In all the hundreds of years in which the Bible was written, It’s all consistent.
在写作圣经几百年的过程当中,它的内容是前后一致的。

130. Paul said, in 2 Timothy 3:16,
保罗在提摩太后书3章16节说:

131. “All Scripture was written by the inspiration of the Holy Spirit,
“圣经都是神所默示的,

132. and it is profitable for doctrine, for proof, for correction, for instruction, and righteousness…”
于教训,督责,使人归正,教导人学义都是有益的,……”

133. and, in verse 21, Peter reminds us,
在21节中,彼得提醒我们:

134. “For prophecy never had its origin in the will of man, but men spoke from God as they were carried along by the Holy Spirit.”
“因为预言从来没有出于人意的,乃是人被圣灵感动,说出神的话来。”

135. Peter is telling all believers that we must stand firm in the Scripture.
彼得告诉所有的信徒,我们必须在神的话语上站立得稳。

136. Only then can we build our seven-part structure in the will of God,
只有这样,我们才能在神的旨意中建造这座”七层大厦“。

137. It is my prayer that you begin to trust the Word of God, as It is the Word of God,
我为你的祷告,使你信靠神的话,因为神的话就是神说的。

138. and that you will stand firm on It.
这样,你就会在其上站立得稳。

139. It is historically accurate.
圣经是历史事实,

140. It is factual.
它是实事求是的,

141. It is tested through the years,
它是经得住历史考验的,

142. and not a mistake in It.
其中毫无错误。

143. I hope you’ll begin to read the Word of God consistently.
