1. Hello, listening friends. We are glad you joined us again.

2. You don’t have to be an important person to make a difference for God.
你不需要做个重要的人物,才能为神活出非凡的人生。

3. The Master’s Manifesto is about being;
主的宣言是有关生命的本质的;

4. and that is why Jesus pronounces these "beatitudes," or "blessings."
因此耶稣宣称这些为“福气”或“福分”。

5. He said, “Happy are you,” “happy are you,” “happy are you.”
他说,“有福了,”“有福了,”“有福了,”

6. Every one of you know that people are trying to sell happiness.
人人都知道,现今的世代,大家都努力地推销“幸福”。

7. They tell you that, if you buy this particular refrigerator, you are going to be happy;

8. or, if you buy this television, you’ll be happy;

9. or, if you buy this particular toothpaste, you’ll be happy.

10. The tragedy is

11. that, as we depart away from the Master’s Manifesto,

12. the more we believe that happiness and joy can be found in things,

13. and it becomes like salt water -

14. the more you drink it, the more you thirst for it,

16. and that is why some people, today, are going from one experience to another,

17. but they have no inner satisfaction.

18. According to The Master’s Manifesto,

19. happiness is not found in any of the places that people think they found it.

20. Happiness is not found in the abandonment of faith.

21. Voltaire, a French playwrite, was the most outspoken opponent of the faith;

22. and, yet, he wrote the following words,

24. Happiness is not found in pleasure.

25. Lord Byron, the British poet,

26. lived a life of pleasure,

27. and listen to what he writes:

28. “The worm, the canker, the grief, are mine alone.”

29. Certainly happiness is not found in money.

30. One of the wealthiest people in the world,

31. when he was dying, he said,

32. “I suppose I am the most miserable man on earth.”

33. Certainly, happiness is not found in possession or fame.

34. Lord Beaconskroft enjoyed more than his fair share of both;

35. and, yet, he wrote,

36. “Youth is a mistake.

37. Manhood is a struggle.

38. Old age is a regret.”

39. Happiness is not found in military glory either.

40. Alexander the Great conquered the known world in his day;

41. and, having done so he wept sorrowfully because there were no more worlds to conquer.

42. The only contentment that anyone can have is from knowing the Master.

43. Knowing the Master leads us to living by The Master’s Manifesto.

44. The Master’s Manifesto is where true happiness is found.
主的宣言,是真正幸福的来源。

45. At the first part of that Manifesto,

46. Jesus said,

47. “Blessed are the poor in spirit for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.”
“虚心的人有福了,因为天国是他们的。”

48. In this first beatitude,
在这第一个福气里,

49. the King spells out the nature of His Kingdom.
国王清楚地说明了天国的本质。

50. The root of the Greek word, "makarios," which could easily mean "contented is the poor in spirit",
希腊字“makarios”的字根,可以很容易理解为“虚心的人满足了”,

51. or "fortunate is the poor in spirit",
或者“虚心的人真幸运”,

52. or "fulfilled is the poor in spirit".
或者说“虚心的人充实了”。

53. Blessed, indeed, are those who recognize their poverty in spirit.
真的,那些承认自己灵里贫乏的人是有福气的。

54. If you read the Gospel of Luke, you will find that the word "in spirit" is not there;
如果读路加福音,你会发现没有“灵里”这两个字;

55. but the very word "poverty" means "poverty of spirit."
但实际上,贫穷就是指“灵里贫乏”的意思。

56. All of the beatitudes have to do with the inner character, and not the outer appearances.
所有这些福气,都是针对人的内在品性来说,而不是针对外在的表现。

57. They have to do with the spiritual condition, not the material possession.
和属灵的状态有关,却跟物质财富无关。

58. There are many exhortations in the Scripture regarding the poor and caring for the poor.
圣经中有许多教导,都谈到贫穷的人,和如何关怀贫穷的人。

59. Here, in The Master’s Manifesto, Jesus is dealing specifically with the inner spiritual condition of the heart;
在主的宣言里,耶稣完全是针对人内心的属灵状况而言的。

60. so, what is the spiritual poverty?
那么,什么是灵里的贫乏呢?

61. Spiritual poverty does not mean a person who does not read the Scripture.
灵里贫乏,不是指一个人不看圣经。

62. Spiritual poverty does not mean the person who spends little time in prayer.
灵里贫乏,也不是指一个人很少祷告。

63. Spiritual poverty does not mean the person who does not walk in the Spirit.
灵里贫乏,也不是指一个人不跟从圣灵的引导。

64. You may now be asking, “What does it mean to be poor in spirit?”
可能你忍不住要问,“那到底灵里贫乏,是指什么?”

65. I want to explain this.
让我解释给你听,

66. By nature, we all are self-sufficient.
按照我们的本性,人都是靠自己的。

67. By nature, we think that we are good.
按照本性,我们都认为自己不错。

68. By nature, we think that, if we don’t kill, or rob, or steal, then, we are fine.
按照本性,我们认为,只要不杀人,不偷不抢,我们就算是好人了。

69. By nature, we think that, if we have a church affiliation, then, we are religious people.
按照本性,我们认为,只要是某间教会的会友,我们就是教徒了。

70. By nature, we think that, if we have given some money to charity, then, we are okay.
按照本性,我们也认为,只要捐些钱给慈善机构,就算不错了。

71. What Jesus is saying is that our assumptions are wrong.
耶稣却告诉我们,这种自以为是的想法,其实是错误的。

72. By definition, the word "poor" means "lacking in something."
“贫穷”这个词的定义是指,“缺少一些东西”。

73. To be "poor in spirit" is to recognize is that we are nothing, have nothing and can do nothing.
“灵里贫乏”就是让我们认清楚,我们一无是处,一无所有,也一无所能。

74. Poverty in spirit is being conscious of my emptiness.
灵里贫乏,就是察觉到自己内心的空虚。

75. Poverty in spirit is the work of the Spirit of God showing me as I am,
灵里贫乏,是圣灵的工作,它揭露我们的实况,

76. not as I want to deceive myself and think that I am.
而不是我们欺骗自己,自以为是的那个状况。

77. Poverty in spirit means that I come to the painful discovery that all of my righteousness is like a filthy rag.
属灵的贫乏,就是忍痛去发现,原来所有我们自以为义的,都不过是一块骯脏的抹布。

78. Poverty in spirit is the spiritual awakening that tells me that, without Christ, my best performance is unacceptable.
属灵的贫乏,就是灵性的觉醒,让我们知道,如果没有耶稣基督,即使最出色的表现都没有价值。

79. Poverty in spirit manifests itself when an individual can say that, without Jesus Christ, I am deserving of Hell and damnation for all of eternity.
属灵贫乏的表现,就是承认,若没有耶稣基督,我就该下地狱,永远沉沦。

80. Listen very carefully, please.

81. Jesus is not saying that, if someone is poor in spirit, Jesus will give him the Kingdom of God;
耶稣并没说,如果一个人灵里贫乏,主就会赐给他天国。

82. Jesus is saying that the man who is poor in spirit is happy because he has the Kingdom.
耶稣是说,灵里贫乏的人就是有福的,因为他已经拥有了天国。

83. The happiness of the Kingdom is a natural sequence and not an arbitrary reward.
天国的福,是一种自然的后果,而不是谈判后的奖赏。

84. The King is not bestowing gifts to make people happy;
天国的王并不是分发礼物,使人快乐。

85. but, rather, He creates the condition within us that enables us to find happiness.
而是,祂开创境界,让我们能够找到幸福。

86. Happiness is an inside job,
幸福是内心的感受。

87. not an outside.
而非外在的。

88. Happiness has its roots, not in the outward circumstances,
幸福有它的根基,不取决于外在条件,

89. but in the inward condition of the character.
而是存在于内心的品格。

90. One doesn’t find happiness in marriage;
一个人不是从婚姻中求幸福,

91. but he takes happiness into marriage.
而是将幸福带到婚姻里去。

92. One doesn’t find happiness in the job.
一个人不是从工作中找幸福,

93. He takes happiness into the job.
而是将幸福带到工作里去。

94. One doesn’t find happiness in a church.
一个人不是从教会中得到喜乐。

95. You take happiness into the church.
而是将喜乐带到教会去。

96. Happiness comes from within;
幸福发自内心;

97. and it begins by recognizing that I, as a person, am dependent on God.
当你意识到,自己是一个倚靠神的人,你就有福了。

98. It begins by recognizing that I am not the captain of my ship.
当你认识到,自己不是生命的船长,你就有福了。

99. Happiness begins by recognizing that I am not the all-powerful being.
当你认识到,自己不是双手万能的,你就有福了。

SECTION B
乙部

1. If I am willing to be governed and ruled by the King,
当我愿意被天国的王来管理和约束,

2. then, I am admitting my spiritual poverty.
我就是承认自己属灵的贫乏。

3. The poor in spirit are those in whom the pride of the will,
属灵的贫乏也就是,有关意志方面的骄傲,

4. and the pride of the intellect,
聪明才智的骄傲,

5. and the pride of the heart,
以及我内心的骄傲,

6. are all bending to the royal King.
全都向尊贵的王屈服。

7. How do you obtain the Kingdom?
你怎样获得天国的公民权呢?

8. How do you get to Heaven?
你怎样才能上天堂呢?

9. You obtain the Kingdom when you submit to the King.
当你顺服国王的时候,你就是天国的一份子。

10. Poverty in spirit emanates from the very act of submission.
虚心从顺服开始。

11. Of course, we all know that financial bankruptcy is not a good thing;
当然,我们都知道,破产不是一件好事;

12. but declaring spiritual bankruptcy is the greatest act that will bring you joy and happiness.
但是,宣告属灵破产却是最了不起的举动,它可以带给你快乐和幸福。

13. Will you do that-
你愿意这样做──

14. come submitting to the Master?
来顺服主吗?

15. Will you acknowledge that you are spiritually bankrupt?
你愿意承认你属灵的破产吗?

16. I believe the Lord Jesus will answer your prayer.
我相信,主耶稣基督会回应你的祷告的。

17. Come to Him, declaring your poverty in spirit.
来到祂面前,宣告你灵里的贫乏。

18. Shall we pray?
让我们来祷告吧。

19. “Heavenly Father,
“天父,

20. we declare to you our spiritual poverty,
我们承认我们灵里的贫乏,

21. and that, without Jesus, we can do nothing.
没有耶稣,我们一无所成。

22. We submit to His Kingdom and His rule.
我们愿意顺服祂的国和祂的律法。

23. Let Him come into our lives
请主进入我们的生命,

24. in the person of the Holy Spirit.
让圣灵来充满我们。
