2. We are delighted that you have joined us for this new series of messages entitled, “The Secrets of Positive Living.”

3. In our last message, we shared the first secret of positive living,

4. which is the balancing of the inflow of God’s blessings on your life with the outflow of blessings from you back to God and others.

5. Imagine that you have a house to sell.

6. Your whole future depends on the sale of that house.

7. But because the house is falling apart, nobody is looking at it.

8. People drive in front of the house, stop for two seconds, and then they speed away.

9. People say to you, “Your house is worthless.”

10. Meanwhile, you are desperate.

11. After all, your whole future is dependent on the sale of that house.

12. All the material goods that you have on God’s earth are in that house.

13. And nobody thinks it’s worth anything.

14. But for you, it becomes a matter of life or death.

15. Then a buyer comes in.

16. Before you can recover from your shock of seeing a buyer,

17. the buyer insists, not only on giving you more than what you are asking for,

18. he does something that is too good to be true.

19. He says to you, “Not only will I buy the house,

20. I will pay a deposit of not ten percent, not ninety percent, but a hundred percent of the purchase price up front right now.”

21. Now you’ve heard him correctly the first time,

22. but you can’t believe your ears.

23. So you ask him to repeat it a few times.

24. Finally, when he gives you the hundred percent deposit and says to you, “One day I’m going to come back and close on the house.”

25. Now, my listening friend, I want you to tell me something.

26. What would your reaction be between the day you received the hundred percent deposit and the day of closing?

27. What other things would crowd out your excitement about what just had happened?

28. What else would distract you from treasuring that incredible act of generosity?

29. Please, my listening friend, tell me,

30. what more proof do you need that the buyer is serious about buying your house?

31. For the Apostle Paul, that one hundred percent deposit of his eternal redemption was paid on the cross by Christ.

32. And that became his all-consuming thought and fact of life.

33. That hundred percent deposit, paid on the cross by Christ, became Paul’s motivation.

34. That hundred percent deposit, paid on the cross by Christ, gave the Apostle Paul perseverance.

35. It gave him patience; it gave him the power to live above the grinding problems of his life.

36. We began the last message looking at Paul’s fifteen secrets of positive living in 2 Corinthians.

37. We saw that the first secret is grasping the principle of the inflow/outflow equation.

38. Today, I want to show you Paul’s second secret of positive living.

39. It was comprehending and claiming the priceless deposit of Christ’s death on the cross for our sins.

40. I don’t know about you,

41. but if I was constantly being attacked at every turn,
但假如在每一个转弯角,都有人在埋伏要攻击我;

42. and had people who are relentless in misinterpreting every move I made,

43. I don’t know if I could handle it.

44. Sometimes, when a family relationship goes sour,

45. when forgiveness and the Spirit of Christ departs a home,

46. you’ll find that each person is just waiting for the other to make a mistake.

47. And then the accusations start.

48. “I told you so.” “I knew you were up to no good.”

49. They are waiting for the first wrong move or the first wrong word

50. and even twist the right words and make them look wrong.

51. Why do people do this?

52. Do you know what I’m talking about here?

53. When hatred fills a heart, you can’t wait for that person to slip up so that you may condemn him.

54. Now, my listening friend, whether you agree with me or not, you understand the point.

55. Now you understand where the Apostle Paul was.

56. He had a group of people who hated him.

57. They hated his uncompromising stance for the truth

58. and they were criticizing him all the time.

59. They would follow him to every town, and as soon as he would leave, they move in with vengeance, stirring up hatred toward the man.

60. Their strategy was very simple—

61. if they could undermine Paul’s credibility,

62. they would undermine his teaching.

63. If they could turn people against him personally, they could turn people against the truth of the gospel.

64. And sure enough, we see it right here.

65. Paul sent a word to the Corinthians that he was thinking about visiting them.

66. But then something completely out of his control happened, so he had to postpone his visit.

67. He did not cancel it, he just changed the time.

68. And those miserable people jumped all over this postponement.

69. They said, “You see? What did we tell you about Paul?”

70. “Paul says one thing and does another. Paul is a liar.”

71. If they could convince people that Paul was lying about a change in schedule,

72. they could try to convince them that Paul was also not telling them the truth about Jesus being the only way to salvation.

73. And at that point, they moved in for the kill.

74. And they said because Paul was untrustworthy in changing his travel plans, therefore, he cannot be trustworthy in what he preaches.

75. Ah, but that’s exactly what they were really after.

76. They did not like Paul’s strong stance for the truth of the gospel.

77. They hated Paul’s insistence that Christ alone, faith alone, and grace alone can save a sinner eternally.

78. In 2 Corinthians chapter 1 verses 16 and 17,

79. Paul takes a couple of seconds to explain that his change of plans does not mean that he has a divided heart,

80. or that he is being a deceiver.

81. And then in verse 18, he goes to the heart of the matter.

82. He goes for what they really were after.

83. Not Paul himself, but the gospel that Paul and Silas and Timothy preached to the Corinthians.

84. Verse 18 says,

85. “But as surely as God is faithful, for the Son of God, Jesus Christ, who was preached among you by me and Silas and Timothy, was not ‘yes’ and ‘no,’ but in Him it has always been ‘yes.’”

86. My listening friend, I want you to listen very carefully.

87. People who hate the gospel message

88. will not come out and attack it up front.

89. They will attack the people first.

90. And sometimes, believers get pulled into such accusations.

91. And they either try to defend themselves, or go and hide somewhere.

92. Paul’s second secret for positive living was this—

93. he did not spend a whole lot of time defending himself.

94. He did not care much about what they thought of him.

95. So although he took time to give an explanation, he quickly moves on to talk about Christ.

96. Paul says, for whatever you say about me which is untrue, let me tell you this,

97. in Jesus, all of the promises of God have been fulfilled.

98. In Jesus, all of the blessings of God are given.

99. In Jesus only, salvation is found.

SECTION B
乙部

唯有在耶稣基督里,才可以得到平安和喜乐;

2. and not in accommodating yourself to culture, is the true power, strength, and glory.

3. So, my listening friends, next time somebody comes to you and attacks you,

4. say to them, “Let me tell you about Jesus.”

10. “He never leaves you nor forsakes you.”

11. “He never changes His mind about you.”

12. “He rejoices over you with singing.”

13. “He is the same yesterday, today, and forever, with no shadow of change.”

14. “He is the beginning and the end.”

15. The second secret for positive living is clinging to the priceless deposit of Jesus Christ’s sacrifice for you.

16. The second secret for positive living is to be consumed by this precious hundred percent deposit.

17. Lifting up Jesus, even at the cost of personal criticism.

18. Like the story I told you earlier about the man who got hundred percent of the deposit on his house.

19. He became free of doubt and became certain of the buyer’s intention.

20. He was longing for the day of closing and overcoming his fear and anxiety.

21. In the same way, if you want to experience positive living,

22. know that the hundred percent deposit of Christ within you is your security.

23. When you accept Christ’s sacrifice on the cross to be for you,

24. you receive the priceless deposit of His Holy Spirit within you.

25. Claiming that priceless deposit, you too can live positively,

26. no matter what people do or say,

27. no matter what the circumstances may be,

28. no matter what walls you may hit, or pitfalls you may experience.

29. The hundred percent deposit is in hand, and nothing is going to change that.

30. Now there are a few things that Paul said about that precious deposit,

31. and if you do have your Bible, please turn to verses 21 and 22 of chapter one of 2 Corinthians.

32. First, God is the one who gave us the hundred percent deposit.

33. And nothing and no one can take it away.

34. He said, “For God established us in Christ.”

35. Secondly, with that hundred percent deposit, God anointed the believers.

36. To anoint someone is to set them apart, commission them, and authorize them.

37. And we are commissioned and authorized as ambassadors of the Lord Jesus Christ.

38. My listening friend, please listen carefully as we conclude.

39. Many of you are facing problems—

40. physical problems,

41. family problems,

42. financial problems.

43. Some of you will face new problems tomorrow morning.

44. But if you allow problems to get you down,

45. it is because you have forgotten the second secret of positive living—

46. your priceless deposit of the Lord Jesus Christ in your life.

47. And until next time, remember the priceless deposit.

48. And may He bless you with God’s richest blessing.
