6. I want to begin by telling you that throughout history there have been crazy people,
我想先跟大家谈谈历史上的一些狂人，
7. And they all claim to be Jesus Christ.
他们都自称是耶稣基督。
8. And anybody can claim anything they want,
其实任何人都可以随心所欲地称呼自己，
9. But only Jesus Christ delivered on his claim to be the divine Son of God.
但只有耶稣基督能名符其实地被称为上帝的儿子。
10. In the past several broadcasts,
在过去的几次节目中，
11. We have been seeing a number of claims that Jesus made.
我们看过了好几个耶稣的自我宣称。
12. And we also saw how he delivered on each of his claims.
我们看了耶稣如何称呼自己，并且实至名归。
13. Jesus said:
耶稣说：
14. I am the bread of life.
我是生命的粮。
15. And he got up on the cross,
祂被钉在十字架上，
16. His body became the broken bread that provided salvation for you and for me.
祂的身体就成为擘开的饼，为你我完成了救赎。
17. Jesus said:
耶稣说：
18. I am the door of the sheep fold,
我是羊的门，
19. And he literally put his body between the sheep and the thief and the wolf.
祂甘愿用自己的身体挡在羊和狼及盗贼之间。
20. Jesus said:
耶稣说：
21. I am the good shepherd.
我是好牧人。
22. And the good shepherd lays down his life for the sheep,
好牧人为羊舍命，
23. And he did exactly that,
并且祂确实照做了，
24. By laying down his life for us.
祂为我们舍了性命。
25. Jesus said:
耶稣说：
26. I am the light of the world,
我是世界的光，
27. And his life was one of perfect purity that illuminated the darkness of sin.
祂那完全圣洁的生命，照亮了罪恶所形成的黑暗。
28. And tonight we are going to look at his saying that I am the way, the truth, and the life.
今天我们要接着看，祂说自己是道路，真理，生命。
29. Before we speak on this today,
在开始之前，
30. I want you to notice one thing.
我想提醒大家一件事。
31. It is in John chapter 14,
在约翰福音14章，
32. You can open your Bible to it.
你可以打开你的圣经。
33. Because Jesus did not make his claim in a vacuum,
我们看见耶稣并不是空洞地做出宣言，
34. When he made this claim,
当祂这样自我宣称时，
35. He made it during one of the most tender moments of his earthly ministry.
是祂在世上服侍的期间，最柔弱的时刻。
36. Jesus had just finished telling the disciples of his future death,
耶稣刚向门徒预告了祂将怎样死，
37. He immediately noticed that they were confused and discouraged.
祂察觉到门徒的困惑和气馁。
38. They have left everything to follow him,
他们舍弃了一切来跟从耶稣，
39. Because he claimed to be the anointed Son of God.
因为耶稣自称是神的儿子。
40. They were excited and thrilled with the miracles that Jesus performed,
他们对耶稣所行的神迹，感到无比惊讶和兴奋；
41. They were exhilarated and encouraged by Jesus’ teaching,
他们被耶稣的教训所激励鼓舞；
42. They were impressed by his exercise of spiritual authority.
他们被耶稣属灵的权柄所折服。
43. But now,
然而，
44. Now, it’s very different.
现在却不同了。
45. In the very last part of chapter 13 in the gospel of John,
约翰福音13章的末了，
46. Jesus told them that he will die a violent death,
耶稣告诉他们，自己将死于暴力之下；
47. But there’s something even worse in all of this,
更糟的是，
48. He told them that Peter their chief spokesman is going to deny him 3 times.
祂预言，门徒的领袖彼得将会三次否认主。
49. I want you to image this with me,
我想请你想象一下，
50. If Peter the courageous is going to betray Jesus,
如果英勇的彼得都会背叛主的话，
51. Image how the rest of them are feeling at that moment?
那么，在那一刻，其余的人会有甚么想法呢？
52. All of this was too much for them to understand.
他们完全无法理解。
53. So in the beginning of chapter 14,
所以在14章一开始，
54. Jesus tries to quiet their hearts.
耶稣安慰他们的心。
55. He said to them:
祂告诉他们说：
56. Let not your hearts be troubled,
你们心里不要忧愁，
57. You believe in God, believe also in me.
你们信神，也当信我。
58. In my Father’s house there are many rooms.
在我父的家里，有许多住处。
59. I want to remind you of the custom that is observed in the middle east.
我想提醒大家注意，在中东地区有一个风俗。
60. And that is when the son is getting ready to get married,
当儿子到了谈论婚姻大事的年龄，
61. The father of the groom adds another room to the house for him to and his bride to live in,
父亲就会在家里添一个房间给新郎和新娘，
62. The size of the room of course is dependant on the wealth of the father.
房间大小取决于父亲的财产状况。
63. So Jesus, the bridegroom, is saying this:
这里，身为新郎的耶稣如此说：
64. That my father has an untold number of rooms.
我父的家中有许多的住处。
65. God has all the space you are going to need,
神的家中应有尽有，
66. He has a place for each one of you,
祂为你我每一个人都预留了地方，
67. Your name is written all over it.
上面写了你的名字。
68. Don’t get yourself into frenzy in this world,
不要让这个世界使你狂躁不安；
69. Don’t get yourself all worried and anxious in this world,
不要在这个世上忧愁挂虑；
70. Don’t let the sorrows and the sufferings of this world discourage all the hope from you.
也不要让这世界的痛苦忧伤夺走你全部的希望。
71. Don’t let your hearts be troubled,
你们心里不要忧愁，
72. Our heavenly Father has a place for you.
我们的天父为你预备了地方。
73. Thomas who was the mouthpiece of discouragement and despondency among the 12.
多马的问题成了十二门徒失望情绪的代言。
74. And he asked the question,
他问了一个问题，
75. That question gives Jesus the opportunity to make a great declaration .
这问题给耶稣机会，做出伟大的宣告。
76. Thomas said:
多马说：
77. We don’t know where you’re going,
我们不知道你往那里去，
78. How do we know the way?
怎么知道那条路呢？
79. Thomas was speaking for the vast majority of us.
多马的发问代表了我们大多数人的疑虑。
80. No matter how many times we see the hand of God working in our lives in the past,
无论在以往的生命中，我们经历了多少神的作为；
81. No matter how many times we have experience the loving hand of God in the past,
无论在以往的生命中，我们经历了多少神的慈爱；
82. The moment we get into trouble,
一旦我们遇上麻烦，
83. We forget all the past blessings.
我们就把过去的福气忘得一干二净。
84. We forget all the promises,
我们忘了神的应许；
85. We forget the opening of the blind eyes,
我们忘了瞎眼得看见；
86. We forget the feeding of the 5000,
我们忘了喂饱五千人的神迹；
87. We forget the raising of the dead.
我们忘了死人复活。
88. We forget all of that and we get bogged down in our current discouragement,
我们忘得一干二净，只是钻进困难的牛角尖里，
89. We get bogged down in our current problems and difficulties.
我们被眼前的困难所压制。
90. And what Jesus told Thomas back then is what he is telling us now.
耶稣回答多马的话，也就是今天祂要对你我所说的。
91. Don’t let your hearts be troubled,
你们心里不要忧愁，
92. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
我就是道路，真理，生命。
93. Do not let your hearts be discouraged,
你们心里不要丧胆，
94. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
我就是道路，真理，生命。
95. Don’t let your problems get you down,
不要被你的困难打败，
96. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
我就是道路，真理，生命。
97. Don’t let your circumstances weigh you down,
不要被你的环境压倒你，
98. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
我就是道路，真理，生命。

1. Don’t let sin have the upper hand in your life,
不要让罪恶占了上风，
2. I am the way, the truth, and the life.
我就是道路，真理，生命。
3. Don’t let fear dominate your life,
不要让恐惧主宰你的生命，
4. For I am the way, the truth, and the life.
因为我就是道路，真理，生命。
5. Don’t let anxiety be your daily companion,
不要让挂虑成为你每天的同伴，
6. For I am the way, the truth, and the life.
因为我就是道路，真理，生命。
7. Don’t let the devil push you around and convince you otherwise,
不要被魔鬼所劫持挟制，
8. For I am the way, the truth, and the life.
因为我就是道路，真理，生命。
9. Listen carefully, please,
请仔细听我说，
10. Stoicism said:
禁欲主义者说：
11. Seal your heart against feeling,
封闭你心里所有的感觉；
12. Deaden your emotions,
冻结你的所有情感；
13. Refuse to ever give vent to tears,
不让泪水轻易流淌；
14. Tough it out and grit your teeth.
打破牙齿和血吞。
15. Denial says:
驼鸟主义者说：
16. There is no trouble,
世上没有问题；
17. There is no sin,
没有罪；
18. There is no suffering,
没有苦难；
19. There is no pain.
没有痛苦。
20. Despondency says:
消极主义者说：
21. It is hopeless,
生命没有盼望；
22. Life is aimless.
生命没有目的。
23. Like Job’s wife, despondency said, curse God and die!
正如乔布的妻子说，你弃掉神，死了吧！
24. But Jesus Christ says:
但耶稣基督说：
25. Let not your hearts be troubled,
你们心里不要忧愁，
26. You believe in God, you believe also in me.
你们信神，也当信我。
27. There is room in glory for you,
在荣耀里有你的住处；
28. There is hope beyond the suffering and the grave,
在苦难，甚至是死亡面前，仍有盼望；
29. There is a way out of all difficulties,
在所有的困难中仍有出路；
30. And that way is Jesus.
而这出路就是耶稣。
31. Let us look at this trilogy:
让我们来看看这三连体：
32. The way,
道路，
33. The truth,
真理，
34. And the life.
生命。
35. The way the sentence is constructed,
根据这句话的结构，
36. It can easily be read this way:
我们可以这样来读：
37. Because I am the way,
因为我就是道路，
38. Therefore in me, you will find the truth and the life.
所以只有在我里面，你可以找到真理和生命。
39. Or this way:
你也可以这样读：
40. I am the way that can lead you to the truth and the life.
我是那条领你通向真理和生命的道路。
41. Or it can be understood this way:
你也可以这样理解：
42. Only through me will you be able to have the truth and eternal life.
只有通过我，你才可以有真理和永生。
43. Or you can read it this way:
或许你还可以这样读：
44. My way is the only way to experience the truth and the life.
我的道路是唯一可以体会真理，经历生命的道路。
45. The way of course reminds them of something very important,
这条路当然提醒了他们一件很重要的事，
46. That he is the only way to the Father,
就是：耶稣是唯一通向天父的道路，
47. Absolutely and categorically there is no other way.
除祂以外，绝对再没有第二条路。
48. If people argue with you, try to intimidate you, tell them Jesus said so.
如果有人想和你争辩，威吓你，就告诉他，是耶稣如此说的。
49. Then he is the truth,
祂是真理，
50. Jesus is the one who is truly reliable.
耶稣是唯一真正值得信赖的。
51. Sooner or later, people will let you down,
迟早，人会令你失望；
52. They will forget or neglect you, or turn on you,
他们会遗忘你，忽视你，或背叛你，
53. But not Jesus.
但耶稣不会。
54. Jesus is the rock of truth upon whom every lie shall be broken and shattered.
耶稣是真理的基石，在祂那里，所有的谎言都会被击碎。
55. He is life,
祂就是生命，
56. The only life that really counts is eternal life,
唯一可靠的是永生；
57. The only life that is really worth the name is that life that only Jesus can give.
唯一可被称为生命的，就是耶稣所赐的生命。
58. Think with me for a moment.
请和我一起来思考一下。
59. He said I am the way,
耶稣说，我就是道路，
60. Yet shortly, he would hang impotently on the cross.
但不久后，祂就被钉上了十字架。
61. He said, I am the truth,
祂说，我就是真理，
62. The lies of evil men were about to enjoy a spectacular triumph.
但恶人的诬告，眼看着就要胜利了。
63. He said I am the life,
祂说，我就是生命，
64. Yet in a few hours, his corpse would be placed in a tomb.
但几个小时后，祂的尸体就被放入了坟墓。
65. Let’s look at this triple expression again:
让我们再来看看这三个名词：
66. This time, let us look to the truth first,
我们先来看真理，
67. Then the life,
然后是生命，
68. Then the way.
最后再来看道路。
69. First the truth.
第一，真理。
70. In modern day, truth is relevant.
在现代社会，真理是相对的。
71. We even joke,
我们甚至开玩笑说，
72. And say there are 3 sides to the truth.
真理有三面。
73. Your side,
你的那一面，
74. My side,
我的这一面，
75. And the truth.
和真实的一面。
76. In fact I have a lawyer friend who told me he has seen so many people tell lies right in the court under oath.
实际上，我的一个律师朋友告诉我，他看到许多人在法庭上起假誓。
77. When Jesus said I am the truth,
当耶稣说，我就是真理时，
78. He was not merely saying, I speak the truth.
祂并不仅仅在说：我说的都是实话。
79. That of course he did,
祂当然是在说实话，
80. But there’s more.
但还有更深的涵义。
81. You see, the best of men,
你看，最杰出的人，
82. The greatest of men,
最伟大的人，
83. The mightiest of men,
最有能力的人，
84. Don’t go through life without times of doubt and mental conflict.
都会经历生命中的疑惑和挣扎。
85. Jeremiah tells us that the heart is deceitful and that the best of us confuse the truth with our needs and desires.
杰里迈亚告诉我们，人心是诡诈的，我们的需要和欲望混淆了真理。
86. But not when it comes to Jesus,
但对耶稣却不同了，
87. He saw the truth with clarity,
祂洞察真理，
88. He declared the truth with boldness.
祂放胆宣扬真理。
89. The reason for that,
这是因为，
90. He is the truth,
祂就是真理；
91. He embodied the truth,
祂概括了真理；
92. To know Jesus is to know the truth.
认识耶稣，就是认识真理。
93. If it were not so, said Jesus, would I have told you so.
耶稣说，若是没有，我就早已告诉你们了。
94. Truth is what he spoke.
真理就是祂口里所说的一切话。
95. And truth is what he was.
真理就是祂本身。
