2. This is the beginning of a brand new series of messages entitled, “The I AM Series”.

3. The best way to know somebody is to know what he says about himself.

4. And yet, the essence of Jesus’ life and teaching is today either ignored, or twisted.
然而,今天耶稣的生平和祂的教训不是被忽视了,就是被扭曲了。

5. Who Jesus is, and the demands of his gospel, have become so watered down.
人们对耶稣这个人,和祂福音的教训已渐渐淡化,贬低其重要性。

6. Many even in the Christian community, are seeking to promote a popular religion instead of the sword of the Word of God.
甚至在基督徒群体中,也有许多人想传播一种时尚的宗教,而不是神那锋利的道。

7. To many people, Christianity has become accepted only as one of many religions.
对许多人来说,基督教不过是众多宗教中的一种。

8. They treat all religions as equal.
他们认为所有宗教应该是平等的。

9. But as we going to see today, Jesus Christ is unique.
但是,我们今天要看的是,耶稣基督是独一无二的。

10. Something that has been happening in the west recently.
最近在西方世界里正发生一种现象,

11. Is that Christianity has become like a punching bag for the atheists and the unbelievers.
就是:基督教渐渐变为异教徒和不信者的攻击对象。

12. Christian love and tolerance has been changed to mean that we must not tell people about Jesus.
基督教的爱心与包容,居然被歪曲为,不要向人传扬耶稣基督。

13. Today, people are ashamed of the gospel.
今天,人们以福音为耻。

14. There are others who treat Christianity as a mere ritual or tradition.
也有人把基督教仅仅看成一个传统或礼仪,

15. There are others still, who see Christianity as superstition and image worship.
甚至有人认为基督教是迷信和偶像崇拜。

16. Yet Christianity is not a religion.
然而,基督信仰并不是一个宗教,

17. Christianity is a person.
基督教说的是一位神,

18. Christianity is Jesus Christ.
就是对耶稣基督的信仰。

19. And in the midst of all this confusion and error.
在这种种的错误和混淆之中,

20. In the midst of this hedonism and paganism.
在享乐主义和异教的泛滥中,

21. The believers in Jesus Christ are called upon to stand firm in who Jesus is.
耶稣基督的信徒们,就需要在认识耶稣是谁这个真理上站立得稳。

22. Even if it is not popular.
即便这种立场是不受欢迎的,

23. Even if it has a price tag.
即便要付上代价。

24. Listen to me very carefully please.
请仔细听我说,

25. Like no other day in history.
正如历史中所发生的。

26. The believers in Jesus Christ are called upon to stand firm on his teaching.
耶稣基督的信徒们,向来被要求在耶稣所教导的真理上站稳,

27. Even if it is politically, not expedient.
即便关乎政策方面的,也不妥协。

28. The believers in Jesus Christ are called upon to sort through all these gobbled messages.
耶稣基督的信徒们也需要分辨那些杂乱的信息,

29. All these gobbled messages that comes to us under the guise of religion.
所有这些隐藏在宗教外衣下的信息。

30. The believers in Jesus Christ are called upon today more than any other day.
而今天的信徒比历代的信徒更加需要儆醒,

31. To know what they believe.
要知道自己信的是甚么,

32. So that they may be able to discern the difference between truth, and partial truth.
这样才可以分辨全部真理与部份真理的区别。

33. In the light of this,
在这种觉悟之下,

34. Tonight, we going to begin this new series of broadcasts from the Gospel of John.
今天我们要开始,从约翰福音来看这一系列的信息,

35. We will specifically concentrate on what Jesus says about himself.
我们会将重点放在耶稣对自己的介绍上。

36. What does Jesus say who he is?
耶稣说他自己是谁?

37. And what are response should be.
我们当有什么样的回应?

38. There are at least 7 times in the gospel of John when Jesus said, “I AM”.
在约翰福音中,耶稣至少七次说:“我是”。

39. Not what some big-name person said who he was.
并不是那些著名人士口中所说的耶稣,

40. Not what some religious leaders say who he was.
也不是某些宗教领袖口中所说的耶稣,

41. But what Jesus said about who he was.
乃是耶稣的自我宣称。

42. Jesus said in John 6,
耶稣在约翰福音第六章里说:

43. “I AM the Bread of Life”.
“我就是生命的粮”。

44. Jesus said in John 8,
耶稣在约翰福音第八章说:

45. “I AM the Light of the World”.
“我是世界的光”。

46. Jesus said in John 10,
耶稣在约翰福音第十章里说:

47. “I AM the Door”.
“我是门”。

48. Jesus said in John 10,
同样在第十章中,耶稣说:

49. “I AM the Good Shepherd”.
“我是好牧人”。

50. Jesus said in John 11,
耶稣在十一章说:

51. “I AM the Resurrection and the Life”.
“我是复活与生命”,祂说:“复活在我,生命也在我。”

52. Jesus said in John 14,
耶稣在十四章说:

53. “I AM the Way, the Truth, and the Life”.
“我就是道路,真理,生命。”

54. Jesus said in John 15,
耶稣在十五章说:

55. “I AM the True Vine”.
“我是真葡萄树”。

56. And today we will learn what he means by calling himself the Bread of Life.
今天我们会来看,祂称自己是“生命的粮”这一点。

57. If you have a bible, turn with me to John chapter six.
如果你有圣经的话,请随我一起翻到约翰福音第六章。

58. And I want to give you a background to that chapter.
我想为你介绍一下此章经文的背景。

59. Jesus had just fed 5,000 hungry people.
耶稣刚刚喂饱了五千人,

60. And Jesus fed them supernaturally from 5 loaves and 2 fishes.
耶稣用五饼二鱼行了这个神迹。

61. And it is in response to their reaction after feeding them that Jesus makes this declaration in chapter six, verse 35,
耶稣用6章35节的宣告,来响应这些吃饱之人的反应。

62. Jesus said,
耶稣说:

63. “I AM the Bread of Life”.
“我就是生命的粮。

64. “…He that comes to me shall not hunger…”
到我这里来的,必定不饿;

65. “…And he that believes in me shall not thirst.”
信我的,永远不渴。”

66. The day after this miracle happened.
这神迹发生后的第二天,

67. The crowd almost greedy-like attitude came to Jesus again.
人们又如饥似渴地来到耶稣面前,

68. They came to satisfy both their curiosity and their bellies.
他们是来满足好奇心和肚腹的需要的,

69. Some even came by boat from Tiberius.
甚至有人从提比哩亚海划船来。

70. In verse 26 of chapter six,
在6章26节那里,

71. Jesus said to them,
耶稣对他们说:

72. “You do not seek me because you saw the signs…”
你们找我,并不是因见了神迹,

73. “…But because you ate the loaves and were filled.”
而是为了要吃饼得饱。

74. They were not focusing on the miracle.
他们不是看重神迹,

75. They were not focusing on the manifestation of the glory of God.
也不是看重神的荣耀得彰显,

76. They were not cognizant of who he was.
更不是认出了耶稣是谁,

77. They just wanted their stomachs to be filled again.
他们只是为了可以再度填饱肚腹而已。

78. There was one thing about these folks.
有一件事值得我们注意,

79. They knew a good deal when they saw one.
这群人知道哪里有便宜可占。

80. And many times that happens with us.
我们也常是这样的。

81. We feel that as long as God does this and that for me, then I will follow him.
我们想,只要神为我做这个,做那个,我就跟从祂。

82. There are many people feel that as long as God will do what we ask him to do, then we going to appease him.
有些人想只要神有求必应,我就可以附和祂。

83. This is the depth of Christianity in some people.
这就是某些人肤浅的基督教信仰。

84. I want you to watch the devil’s strategy at work.
我想提醒你注意魔鬼的手段。

85. First of all,
首先,

86. The devil waters down the gospel.
魔鬼冲淡福音的真义,

87. And then he tries to make people see God as an automatic slot machine.
然后他试图让人们把上帝看成一台自动贩卖机。

88. And when God does not respond to their requests.
当神没有答应他们的要求时,

89. He leads them astray.
(Dr. Youssef is talking about the devil… leading you astray)
魔鬼就使人开始偏离神。

90. What was Jesus saying in this passage?
在这段经文里,耶稣是怎么说的呢?

91. He is saying to them, “I know why you’re back”.
祂对他们说:“我知道你们为甚么回来,”

92. “You came because you want more food”.
你们回来是因为你们想要得更多的食物。

93. “But regardless of your misdirected motives”.
但尽管你们有错误的动机,

94. “I want to take you to a higher ground”.
我仍然要把你们带到更高之处,

95. “I want to elevate your vision”.
我要提升你们的异象。

96. “Let me talk to you about things that are far more important than bread”.
让我来告诉你们那些远比食物更为重要的东西,

SECTION B
乙部

1. “Let me lead you to another kind of bread that you most desperately need”.
让我指引你,什么才是你最需要的食物,

2. “And you need this kind of bread far more than you need ordinary bread”.
是远胜过你日用的饮食的。”

3. Jesus was most concerned about the bread of life.
耶稣最为看重的是生命之粮,

4. The living bread.
具有生命力的粮食。

5. The bread that will not only satisfy your stomach, but will satisfy your soul.
这粮不仅要满足你的肚腹,更要满足你灵魂的需要。

6. It will satisfy your emotion.
祂会满足你情感的需要;

7. It will satisfy your intellect.
会满足你理性的需要;

8. It will satisfy all of you.
会满足你全人的需要。

9. As if Jesus is saying these words.
耶稣的这番话,

10. Stop focusing on your problems and your physical needs.
是要叫我们不再将视线放在肉身的需要上,

11. For God knows that you need them and he will provide for them.
因为神知道我们的需要,祂会供应给我们。

12. Lift up your eyes.
睁大你的眼睛,

13. Get shaken to your boots.
彻底地醒觉,

14. As to your most desperate need.
正视你最迫切的需要。

15. And it is for the living bread.
你会发现,你真正需要的就是这生命的粮。

16. Don’t put your whole focus on this life.
不要把视线局限于今生,

17. For even those who were with Moses and experienced the daily manna, yet they died.
因为即便是那些曾与摩西一同领受吗哪的人,如今也死了。

18. Whether you eat expensive food or you eat cheap food.
无论你吃的贵贱与否,

19. Whether you live in a palace or you live in a hut.
无论你是身居皇宫,或是贫民窟,

20. It won’t make any difference when you die.
你死时并不会有多大区别。

21. If every person in the world becomes rich and have material comfort.
如果世上每一个人都十分富有,养尊处优,

22. But without Jesus Christ, the bread of life, all of that means nothing.
但却没有耶稣基督这生命的粮,那么一切都是虚空。

23. Because after you enjoy all the material goods.
因为当你享受完物质的一切时,

24. You will die.
你终究会死,

25. And where will you spend eternity.
那么,你要去那儿渡你的永恒呢?

26. That is the question.
这就是问题所在,

27. The most important question.
一个最重要的问题。

28. How foolish therefore, to make food be the ultimate goal.
因此,把有形的食物当作最终的目标,是十分愚蠢的。

29. Now, mind you, Jesus was not despising physical needs.
当然,我要提醒你,耶稣并不是低看肉身的需要;

30. In fact, he promised again and again that he will provide for his children.
实际上,祂反复应许说,祂会供应祂儿女一切的需要。

31. You must trust him.
你必须信任祂。

32. He will not let you down when it comes to the necessities of life.
在日常生活所需的供应上,祂不会令你失望,

33. Jesus was speaking to people who respect bread as a gift from God.
耶稣的话是对那些,相信我们日用的饮食都是来自神的恩赐的人所说的。

34. During Jesus’ time,
在耶稣的时代,

35. People never stepped on a piece of bread.
人们从不践踏食物,

36. But rather they would pick it up.
他们总是捡起食物,

37. They will put it aside for the friars.
收在一边留给路过的僧侣,

38. Because bread comes from God.
因为食物是从神而来的。

39. Therefore, bread stands for necessary food.
因此,这里的食物代表日用的饮食,

40. Bread also stood for hospitality and fellowship.
也代表款待和友好。

41. When you break bread with someone,
当你和别人一起擘饼的时候,

42. You are united in fellowship with that person.
你们就是彼此合一了。

43. There is a bond that becomes unbroken when you break bread and you eat together.
当你们擘饼同吃时,就有一个牢不可破的联合产生了。

44. That is why Jesus can tell us that he and he alone can be called the bread of life.
因此耶稣说,祂,也只有祂,才可以被称为生命的粮,

45. Just as bread reminds us of the absolute necessity of life.
正如饼可以让我们联想到生命的必需品。

46. And that without food, a person dies.
人没有食物就会死亡,

47. So it is spiritually.
同样,在属灵方面,

48. Without Jesus Christ, the bread of life, you will spiritually die.
没有耶稣基督这生命的粮,你的灵就会死亡。

49. You can live without philosophers.
世上没有哲学家,你可以活;

50. You can live without read teachers.
世上没有老师,你可以活。

51. Because Jesus said,
因为耶稣说,

52. I am the bread of life.
我就是生命的粮。

53. Some people sometimes say to me,
有些人有时对我说:

54. I am a seeker of the truth,
我是寻求真理的人,

55. But I’m also a Christian.
但我同时也是一个基督徒。

56. This is like saying, that hunger is bread.
这就好比在说,饥饿跟食物是一样的。

57. Hunger declares the need for bread.
事实上,饥饿表示我们对食物的需要,

58. But it can never be bread.
但饥饿绝不是食物。

59. Searching for the truth is hunger.
寻找真理是饥饿,

60. The quest for God never means the finding of God.
寻求神并不意味着已经找到神了。

61. Unless bread is found, a person could die of starvation.
除非找到了食物,不然人就会饿死。

62. When one is hungry,
当一个人饥饿时,

63. They can run from place to place.
他们会四处寻觅,

64. He will run from place to place and from person to person.
他们会不断询问,

65. Yet there is only one place where he can get food.
但只有一个地方可以找到食物,

66. That’s where the food is.
就是有食物的地方。

67. Hungry people are always susceptible to rumors.
饥饿的人比较容易听信谣言,

68. Some would say, there is a food in this place.
当听见有人说:某某地方有食物,

69. So they run to that place.
他们就跑到那里;

70. Or there is food with this group.
或说:某某团体有食物,

71. So they go to that group.
他们就去投靠那个团体 ;

72. Or that there is a particular food with a miracle worker.
或说:有人会用神迹变出食物,

73. So they run there.
于是他们就跑去跟随。

74. But Jesus was saying about himself.
但耶稣是在说祂自己。

75. I am the only bread of life.
祂说,我就是唯一的生命之粮。

76. I am your only source for your spiritual satisfaction.
我是唯一可以满足你灵魂需要的源头;

77. I am the only one who can give you emotional satisfaction.
我是唯一可以满足你情感需要的源头;

78. I am the only one who can give you intellectual satisfaction.
我是唯一可以满足你理性需要的源头;

79. I am the bread of life.
我就是生命的粮;

80. I am the living bread.
具有生命力的粮食。
