4. and, today, we are going to look at a section of Psalm 119.

5. Do you know that there are many people who believe in the Bible,

6. but most people don’t understand the power of the Bible.
但是大多数人不理解圣经所具备的能力。

7. Many people revere and respect the Bible;

8. but they are totally ignorant of what’s in it.

9. Many people try to use the Bible as magic.
很多人试图把圣经当作魔法来使用。

10. They put it under their pillow.
他们把它放在枕头下面。

11. They place it in their cars,
他们把它放到车里,

12. but they are oblivious to the dynamite inside of it.
但他们却忽略了圣经所具备的巨大能力。

13. The writer of Psalm 119, verses 9 to 16, explains that power.
诗篇的作者在第119篇,9到16节,解释了这种大能。

14. God’s Word will either keep us from sin and harm,
神的话语能保守我们远离罪恶和伤害,

15. or, sin will keep us from God’s power in His Word.
否则的话,罪恶就会让我们远离神话语的能力。

16. Psalm 119 is divided into twenty-two sections.
诗篇119篇被分为二十二个部分。

17. The second section is section 2, verses 9 to 16,
从第9节到16节,是第二部分,

18. and it means “house.”

19. The section has a specific message -

20. that a person can only be protected when God’s Word finds a home in his heart.

21. The only safety you will find is when you become a home that houses the Word of God.

22. The only peace you can have is when the Word of God finds a home in your heart.

23. Only the Word of God can guard against the enemy of your soul.

24. Jesus said,

25. “If you try to get rid of a demon by your own strength,

26. he will come back a little later with seven more.”

27. What does that mean?

28. It means that you can never have power over sin and Satan without the Bible.

29. Do you know of people who try to give up bad habits

30. and, later on, they return to their temptation?

31. That’s what happens when you try to be good without God.

32. That’s what happens when you try to be moral without the power of the Word of God.

33. and that’s what the psalmist is saying in Psalm 119, verses 9 to 16.

34. Let’s read it together.

35. The psalmist tells us two things about the Word of God.

36. These are very important.

37. Please listen carefully.

38. First,

39. there is indescribable virtue in the Word of God.

40. Second,

41. there is incalculable value to the Word of God.

42. What is the virtue of the Word of God?

43. The psalmist said It has a cleansing effect.

44. That is found in verse 9.

45. In verse 10,

46. It has a controlling effect.

47. Verses 11and 12,

48. It has a correcting effect.

49. How can a young person keep his or her ways pure?

50. He can do so by obedience to the Word of God.

51. The psalmist is saying that, when it comes to your life’s conduct and character,

52. the Word of God is stronger than all other strength.
神话语的能力超过一切。

53. The Word of God is more powerful than dynamite.

54. The Word of God is more cleansing than ammonia.

55. The world gives young people bad advice.
世界带给年轻人恶劣的指引。

56. They say, “Have your fun while you’re young,
他们说:“年轻时要及时行乐,

57. and, then, become religious when you are old...”
年老时再追求宗教信仰……”

58. but here’s the problem:

59. young people do not see the long-term effect of indulging in alcohol or drugs.
年轻人不知道沈湎与酒精和毒品的的长远影响。

60. They do not see the broken hearts that sin causes.

61. The psalmist speaks of things the world will never understand or accept.
诗篇作者所说的事情,是这个世界不能理解和接受的。

62. Here is what he is saying:

63. the younger you are when you fill your heart with the Word of God,
年轻人,你越早将神的话语藏在心里,

64. the healthier life you will have.
你的人生就会越健康。

65. The younger you begin to make your heart a home for the Word of God,
年轻人,你越早让自己的心灵成为收藏神话语的地方,

66. the more peaceful life you will have later on.
在以后的日子里,你的人生就会越平安。

67. Look at verses 10 and11 of Psalm 119.
让我们来看诗篇119篇的第10和11节。

68. “With my whole heart, I sought You. Do not let me wander from Your commandments.
“我一心寻求了你,求你不要叫我偏离你的命令。

69. I have treasured Your Word in my heart that I might not sin against You.”
我将你的话藏在心里,免得我得罪你。”

70. The Word of God not only cleanses, but It also controls.
神的话不仅仅能洁净人,而且还能管制人。

71. There was a time in my life when I wanted to do all the things that my family was stopping me from doing;
在我的人生中,曾有一次,当我想做家人不让我做的事情时;

72. so, before the age of twenty, I moved 9,000 miles away from home.
我就在二十岁之前,搬到了离家九千英里远的地方。

73. Nobody knew me in this new place.
在新的地方没有人认识我。

74. There were no curfews in this new place.
在新的地方不需要按时休息。

75. There was no one to hold me accountable.
在这我不需要对任何人负责。

76. You may be thinking that, now, I have my chance to do whatever I want;
你可能会想,现在,我终于有机会可以随心所欲了;

77. but I did not.
但是我没有。

78. What kept me from sin was the Word of God.
是神的话语保守了我,远离罪恶。

79. It was driven into my heart from an early age,
这些话语已经在幼年时就印入了我的心田,

80. because when the Word of God is obeyed at an early age,
如果你年幼时就遵循神的话语,

81. It will have a controlling effect for the rest of your life.
它就会在你整个人生中,具有管制性的影响。

82. Young Daniel was taken away from his home as a captive in Babylon.
年轻的但以理,成为俘虏,被迫远离家乡来到巴比伦。

83. He was away from parental control.
他远离了父母的管教。

84. He was away from religious environment;
他远离了信仰的环境。

85. but the Bible said Daniel purposed in his heart not to be defiled by the King’s food.
但是圣经说,但以理却立志不以王的膳食玷污自己。

86. Someone may have said to Daniel,
可能有人会对但以理说:

87. “Daniel, when you are in Rome, do what the Romans do...”
“但以理,你应该入乡随俗呀!”

88. but Daniel refused,

89. because he treasured the Word of God in his heart at an early age.
因为他幼年时就将神的话语藏在心里。

90. What did Daniel’s refusal to eat have to do with God?

91. Daniel knew that it would be the first step of compromise.
其实,但以理明白这只是妥协的第一步。

92. The next step could have been worshiping idols.
下一步,可能就是要求他拜偶像。

93. The virtue of the Word of God is that It will cleanse you.
神话语的宝贵就是,它可以洁净你。

94. It will control you.
它能够管制你。

95. It will correct you.
它能够纠正你。

96. The world says that we should act depending on the circumstances surrounding us;
世界告诉我们,要我们识时务,与环境妥协;

97. but God’s Word tells us to act differently.
但是神的话语却告诉我们,不该如此。

98. God tells us to act in obedience to His Word,
上帝告诉我们,要服从祂的话语,

99. even when nobody else is watching you.

100. Joseph was sold into slavery in Egypt.
约瑟被卖到埃及为奴。

101. At this time, the Bible was not yet written;
在那个时候,圣经还没有写成;

102. but Joseph was taught the Word of God by his father, Jacob.
但是约瑟从父亲雅各那里,学到了神的话语。

103. His grandfather, Isaac, instructed him in God’s Word;
是祖父以撒将神的话语,传授给父亲雅各的;

104. and so did his great-grandfather, Abraham;
就像他曾祖亚伯拉罕所作的一样。

105. so, when Mrs. Potiphar came to Joseph in private asking him to commit adultery,
因此,当波提乏的妻子来勾引约瑟犯奸淫的时候,

106. Joseph said, “God will see us, and that’s all that matters...”

107. and he ran as he refused her offer.

108. The Word of God cleanses us.
神的话语洁净我们。

109. The Word of God controls us.

110. the Word of God corrects us,

111. because the Word of God is virtuous.
因为神的话语是美善的。

112. Our generation knows the price of everything, but the value of little.
我们这一代人只知道每一件东西的价格,却不知道它们的价值。

113. In Psalm 119, the psalmist said,
在诗篇119篇,作者说:

114. “Let me show you three things that will help you live out the Word of God.”
“让我向你指出三件事情,帮助你照着神的话语来生活。”

115. Treasuring the Word of God in your heart is good,
将神的话语藏在心里是好的,

116. but it is not good enough.
但还不足够。

117. Why is this true?
为什么呢?

118. Because you have to apply the Word of God in every area of your life.
因为你还需要,在你生活的每一个领域,来应用神的话语。

119. Having aspirin in your medicine cabinet is good,
在你的药柜里,有阿斯匹林是好的,

120. but it is not good enough if you don’t take the aspirin.
但是如果你不服用它,对你就无效了。

121. Having money in the bank is good,
钱存在银行里是很好的,

122. but it is of no use to you if you do not know how to make a withdrawal.
但是如果你不懂得如何提款,那些存款都没有用。

123. Some people know the Word of God,
有些人知道神的话语,

124. but they do not know how to apply It in their lives.
但是,不知道如何应用在他们的生活中。

125. There are some who even memorize the Word of God,
还有些人甚至可以背诵神的话语,

126. but they live lives that are contrary to the Word of God;
但是他们的生活,却与神的话语背道而驰;

127. so, what are these three things that will help us value the Word of God?
那么,帮助我们能够珍惜神话语的三件事情是什么呢?

128. You will find the first one in verse 13.
你将在第13节发现第一点,

129. Speak the Word of God.
讲述神的话语。

130. Secondly,
第二,

131. savor the Word of God,
享受神的话语,

132. verses 14 and 15.
在第14节和第15节。

133. Thirdly, in verse 16,
第三,在16节,

134. substantiate the Word of God.
落实神的话语。

135. First, speaking the Word of God will help you value the Word of God.
首先,讲述神的话语能帮助你认识它的价值。

136. The psalmist said,
诗篇作者说:

137. “With my lips, I have told of all the ordinances of Your mouth.”
“我用嘴唇传扬你口中的一切典章。”

138. Reading the Word of God is good.
读神的话语是好的。

139. Meditating upon the Word of God is great.
默想神的话语是了不起的。

140. Spending time in the Word of God is essential;
在神的话语上花时间,下功夫是最基本的;

141. but the Word of God can only help you when you verbalize It to others.
只有你向别人讲述神的话语时,你才能得到帮助。

142. The second thing is savoring the Word.
第二点是,享受神的话语。

143. Verse 14 says,
第14节说,

144. “I have rejoiced in the word of Your testimonies as much as in all riches.”
“我喜悦你的法度,如同喜悦一切的财物。”

145. My listening friend, I want you to use your imagination a little bit.
亲爱的朋友,我希望你稍微地想象一下。

146. Suppose you get the news that a rich uncle died and left you some money.
假设你得到消息说,一个富有的叔叔去世了,给你留下一笔钱。

147. What would your reaction be?
你的反应会是怎样呢?

148. You would be overjoyed.
你一定会狂喜过望的。

149. You would call your friends.
你会打电话告诉你的朋友。

150. You would be celebrating.
你会开庆祝会。

151. You would be feeling that you are the happiest person in the world.
你会认为,自己是这世界上最快乐的人。

152. Now, listen to what the psalmist said.
现在,听一听诗篇作者是怎么说的。

153. He is saying that this is how I feel about the Word of God.
他的意思是,这就是我对神话语的感受。

154. It is like inheriting a fortune everyday.
就好像每一天都继承了一大笔遗产。

155. The psalmist said,
诗篇作者说:

156. “I am so excited about praising God
“赞美神让我如此兴奋,

157. that I can’t wait to get to church for prayer and praise.
以至于我迫不急待地到教会去祷告和赞美。

158. I am so joyful about the Word of God,
我因神的话语而喜乐,

159. I cannot wait to tell someone about Its impact on my life…”
我强烈地想告诉他人,神的话语对我生活的影响……”

160. so, the value of the Word of God is found when you speak It.
当你讲述神的话语时,你就体会到它的价值了。

161. The value of the Word of God is found when you savor It.
当你享受神的话语时,你就体会到它的宝贵了。

162. Thirdly, the value of the Word of God is found when you substantiate It.
第三,当你实行神的话语时,你就体会到它的珍贵了。

163. Look at verse 16 of Psalm 119.
请看诗篇119篇的16节。

164. “I shall delight in Your statutes. I shall not forget Your Word.”
“我要在你的律例中自乐,我不忘记你的话。”

165. The Word of God has to be demonstrated in your life.
神的话语一定要在你的生活中表现出来。

166. The Word of God has to be proven in your life.
神的话语一定要在你的生活中得到证明。

167. David had been on the run from King Saul, the King of Israel.
大卫曾经逃避以色列君王扫罗的追捕。

168. The King and his army were running after a young man with a motley crew.
扫罗王和他的军队,紧紧追赶着年轻的大卫和他的乌合之众。

169. David had done nothing wrong and everything right;
大卫没有做过一件错事;

170. but, then, one day, a report came to him.
然后,有一天,他收到一个报告。

171. It looked like his troubles were over.
看起来好像是他的麻烦快要解决了。

172. King Saul and all his men were asleep in a cave.
扫罗王和他的随从在一个山洞中睡着了。

173. What an opportunity to get rid of his enemy once and for all!
这是多么好的机会,一下彻底剪除他的敌人!

174. What an opportunity to become the King right away!
这是多么宝贵的机会,大卫立刻就可以成为君王!

175. What an opportunity for David to save himself a great deal of heartache and suffering;
这是多么难得的时机,大卫可以把自己从痛苦和磨难中解脱出来;

176. but David not only treasured the Word of God in his heart,
但是,大卫不仅把神的话语藏在心里,

177. but he knew, also, what the Word of God said.
而且,他明白,神的话语意味着什么。

178. It says, “Harm not the Lord’s anointed.”
经上说:“不可伤害耶和华的受膏者。”

179. David knew that he had to demonstrate the Word of God in his actions.
大卫知道,他的行为必须要验证神的话语。

180. David, also, knew that he had to substantiate the Word of God in the way he lived;
同时,大卫也明白,他生活的方式必须要实践神的话语;

181. and, because he treasured the Word of God
因为他看重神的话语,

182. and applied the Word of God,
他落实了神的话语,

183. he knew that short cuts are not worth it.
他知道,走捷径是不值得的。

184. Short cuts are full of pain and grief.
捷径充满了苦痛和哀伤。

185. Shorts cuts are short-lived.
走捷径是短暂的。

186. My listening friend, as I conclude, I want to ask you a question.
亲爱的朋友,在结束的时候,我想问你一个问题。

187. Why don’t you make a very important decision, today?
为什么,你不在今天就作一个重要的决定?

188. Make a decision for you and for your family.
为你和家人作一个决定。

189. Decide, today, to read and treasure the Word of God every day;
从今天开始,每天阅读并珍惜神的话语;

190. and, then, tell someone what God has taught you from His Word.
然后,把神的话语所教导你的告诉别人。
